Alexandra-Maria-Lara

Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is an Romanian actress and television presenter. She is best known for her role as the main character in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control, and Rush. Since she was the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra started her career in showbiz early. Her roles included lead characters in television dramas as early as 16 years old. Following her highly acclaimed performance in the television film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went onto play more notable roles such as Adolf Hitler's secretary, Traudljunge, in Downfall. Downfall received nominations for an Oscar and won critical and commercial great success. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are the other Oscar nominated films that feature female stars. Alexandra is well known for her participation in a variety of noteworthy projects both domestically as well as internationally. Some of these comprise British Biographical Film Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time French Historical Miniseries Napoleon and many more. She also remained member of the jury for the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
